Welcome to the world of the curated home, where every corner is a deliberate expression of personal style and every object holds meaning. Creating your perfect oasis is an art—a process of thoughtful selection that allows your unique taste and personality to shine through. I believe that a home is more than just a collection of furnishings; it’s a living gallery where every element, from the heirloom chair to the modern artwork, is carefully chosen to create a space that deeply resonates with you.
In this series of articles, I delve into the core of the curated aesthetic, exploring how to bring together your favorite pieces in ways that are both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. The focus is on the sophisticated skill of blending different styles, whether you’re pairing vintage finds with contemporary design or incorporating meaningful, storied objects into a minimalist setting. You’ll discover practical strategies to make the most of your existing space and ensure every item contributes to your home’s overall narrative.
Learn the importance of choosing the right color palette to unify diverse pieces, master the art of furniture arrangement for optimal flow, and discover simple techniques for displaying your collections with impact. I hope this helps you curate a home that feels like a true work of art—a personalized space that authentically reflects who you are and provides comfort for years to come. Hello and welcome!
I’m Tracy Svendsen – an interior designer and the editor for Canadian Log Homes. My goal is to connect readers to the latest and most beautiful trends in home decorating Ideas. Growing up in the country, I’ve always been interested in rustic and farmhouse interiors. I started studying interior design at Montana State University and received my design degree from Ryerson University. I later became a partner in a handcrafted log home company offering design services to our clientele for over 20 years. Although I now live in a charming residential community by the ocean, my home still reflects my love for the modern rustic approach to design.
